Would you like S'more? - Cooking S'mores Indoors
The best part of camping has nothing to do with being outside. Think back to the last time you slept in the woods and you will agree with me. Take away the mosquitoes, the unexpected rainstorms and going to the bathroom in the bushes and what's left? Not much you say? Well then you forgot the best part because nothing is more fun about camping than making s'mores. If you don't have time for camping anymore but melted chocolate, marshmallows and graham crackers still sounds tempting, don't worry. We'll show you three ways to skip the great outdoors and cook up some s'mores in the comforts of your own home.
A great way to cook s'mores indoors is to use the Casa Moda S'mores Maker. It's a lot like cooking smores outdoors. The S'mores Maker replaces the campfire with a sterno and instead of passing around the bag of marshmallows, there are neat places to stack all of your ingredients. The Casa Moda S'mores Maker is great for those of us who are trying to set a mood. There are people who don't mind their guests digging in a box of graham crackers or standing over the oven with a fork. But if you're trying to create a warm and cozy environment and have an enjoyable evening, then the S'mores Maker is something to consider.
The second way to make s'mores indoors is also the easiest. With a microwave and about 30 seconds you could dig right into a delicious plate of these chocolaty marshmallow graham treats. With the same amount of time outside, you probably won't be digging into anything except maybe a hole in the ground to put your campfire. On a microwave safe dish, place a graham cracker, a piece of chocolate and a large marshmallow. Place
another graham cracker on the dish to use as the top. The marshmallow will puff up while it's cooking so don't bother trying to make a sandwich at this point. Cook for 30-45 seconds. Wait a few seconds while the marshmallow deflates, then place the second graham cracker on top like a sandwich. What could be easier than that?
We saved the best way to make s'mores for last. Once you taste s'mores fondue, you'll be hooked on indoor s'mores. S'mores fondue puts all the messy ingredients in the fondue pot and then you dip the marshmallows. Using a fondue pot eliminates the hot chocolate dripping in your hands and the graham cracker crumbs in your lap.
S'mores Fondue 1 Cup Mini Marshmallows Full Sized Marshmallows (at least 20) for dipping 2/3 Cup Graham Cracker Crumbs 1/2 Cup Evaporated Milk 3/4 Cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
Over low flame, heat mini marshmallows and evaporated milk while stirring until melted (DO NOT BOIL) Slowly add chocolate chips while stirring Slowly add graham cracker crumbs while stirring Keep stirring until mixture becomes smooth
No matter which method you choose to prepare them, S'mores are a delcious way to spend an evening. They're easy to make, taste great and bring back great memories. You can't go wrong with S'mores. Even if you do feel the need to venture outdoors, don't forget to bring the marshmallows, chocolate and grahams.
